Partial Hospitalization for Drug and Alcohol Addiction in Las Vegas

Our partial hospitalization program (PHP) is more intensive than our outpatient treatment structure. Patients attend group counseling sessions, individual therapy and receive psychiatric services. In most cases patients return to their homes or a sober living facility in the evening, but our PHP can also serve as a boarding program depending on treatment needs and the stability of the patient.

Landmark Recovery of Las Vegas‘ partial hospitalization program is designed to stabilize and improve the functionality of a patient who has successfully completed medical detox from drugs or alcohol. Some patients find out PHP as a good transition between residential treatment and an outpatient program. Our PHP could include medication-assisted treatment (MAT) which involves the use of federally-approved medications to treat both alcohol use disorder and opioid addiction.

What to Expect From a Partial Hospitalization Program

Landmark’s partial hospitalization program providers close medical monitoring and accountability, without the cost and rigidity or residential rehab. Our PHP follows the same schedule structure as our residential program. The only aspect that sets partial hospitalization apart is that patients in this program do not have to reside at the facility full-time. This is ideal for individuals who have a stronger case of addiction than those who are involved in an outpatient program, but still cannot commit to residing at a treatment center full-time. For that reason, our PHP could be a good option for people who cannot find full-time childcare, have a strict work schedule or just can’t commit to staying in the facility.

A partial hospitalization program still provides intense treatment for alcohol and substance abuse, but is more flexible in terms of allowing the patient to remain committed to their responsibilities outside of treatment.

How Long Does Partial Hospitalization Last?

The length of treatment for any drug and alcohol treatment program varies from person to person. The partial hospitalization program at Landmark Recovery of Las Vegas is designed as a 35-day period, similar to our inpatient rehab treatment. Some patients may progress faster while others may require more treatment time. Daily sessions range from four to eight hours and require an average of five visits per week, depending on the needs of the patient, their availability, and the severity of their addiction.

Partial Hospitalization in Las Vegas

Partial Hospitalization is just one of the treatments for substance use disorders offered at Landmark Recovery of Las Vegas. Our rehab facility is conveniently located in southern Nevada, less than a five-hour drive from Los Angeles, Calif. Phoenix, AZ or St. George, UT. The treatment center also offers medical detoxing, inpatient rehab, and outpatient rehab treatment.

Partial Hospitalization vs Inpatient Hospitalization

The difference between partial hospitalization and inpatient hospitalization is primarily that patients don’t spend the night at a treatment facility. Partial hospitalization requires the patient to attend the addiction treatment center part-time, while inpatient treatment requires the patient to attend full-time for approximately a month. It is what is considered a “happy medium” between inpatient rehab and outpatient rehab, where a patient isn’t required to spend any time at the treatment center but is required to attend therapy sessions and meetings throughout the week, and sometimes patients are required to take medication in this program to prevent strong withdrawal symptoms.
