One of the first stages of the recovery process at Praxis of Colorado Springs involves medical detox. Patients will flush out all traces of drugs and/or alcohol from their system under the supervision of our licensed medical staff. Due to the possibility of uncomfortable and potentially life-threatening withdrawal symptoms that happen when people stop using substances, it’s highly recommended that alcohol or drug detox occurs under medical supervision. If a patient’s symptoms worsen during detox, our medical staff can administer the proper medication to help them feel better and avoid further health complications.
We accept in-state and out-of-state patients and proudly support our military veterans. Landmark Recovery does not discriminate on the basis of age, sex or gender. All patients are provided with personalized treatment plans that include science-backed modalities for treating the body, mind and spirit. During inpatient rehab at Praxis of Colorado Springs, patients follow a schedule that includes intensive therapy, counseling and classes to help them achieve long-term sobriety. My life has been forever changed by Landmark! I owe my new life to the knowledge I gained there. I completed the IOP program and started participating in the Alumni program. I have to say that the Alumni program is my favorite because it really goes the extra mile and shows you how to have fun while being sober. It's so great to have real friendships that I have made while on this life journey.

When I walked into Landmark, I knew it was unlike any place I had been in my past attempts. The structure, curriculum, the genuine empathy towards residents, and being guided by people with first hand knowledge and experience of the path we're on made the difference. Facing the world after can be overwhelming for some, but with the information, tools, confidence and support Landmark provided, the reality is less intimidating.

The compassion that I received upon entering Landmark Recovery was overwhelming. The education that I received in regards to my disease was more than I could have ever anticipated. I was able to meet like minded people that understood every aspect of what I was going through, including the staff. I would have never met any of these people who I now consider friends had it not been for Landmark.

At Landmark Recovery, we understand that there isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach to addiction. That’s why we tailor treatment plans to fit the history and severity level of a person’s substance use when they arrive at the facility. No matter if you have co-occurring disorders or mental and behavioral health issues, we ensure that your condition and humanity are respected. The most successful path to recovery begins with medically supervised detox to help you safely clear your system of drugs or alcohol. Then, our therapy programs are followed by intensive outpatient treatment, where we help patients reintegrate into society with new skills for sober living. When patients graduate from Landmark Recovery, we continue to provide them with the support they need to manage their addiction. While each addiction treatment plan is customized, we have programs for all levels of care.
Often the first step in addiction recovery, our detox program will help you safely clear your body and mind of drugs or alcohol under 24/7 supervision.

Learn more about Outpatient TreatmentSome people delay addiction treatment because they believe it’s too expensive. However, the costs associated with an untreated addiction far outweigh the cost of an addiction treatment center. The cost of drugs and alcohol used by someone struggling with addiction typically surpasses the cost of substance use treatment. There are emotional and physical costs, including health problems, broken relationships and poor self-image that often accompany addiction.
While detox and rehab are investments, they both pay off for people willing to trust that there are people and programs willing to help them recover. You’ll find a happier and healthier life in recovery.

Addiction is a complex, but treatable disease. Praxis of Colorado Springs can help you overcome drug and alcohol addiction using medical detox and evidence-based rehab programs. The most popular substances abused in Colorado are marijuana, alcohol, cocaine and opioid pain killers, according to federal data. Last year, more than 16,000 people went to the emergency room in Colorado for a substance-abuse-related issue.
Unfortunately, many people don’t get treatment because they are worried about what others will think. This is one of the results of the negative stigma of addiction. The reality is that society applauds and supports those who choose to better themselves, which includes overcoming the harmful effects of addiction.
It's estimated that more than 6% of adults in Colorado are dealing with alcohol addiction. These people can benefit greatly from alcohol addiction treatment. Alcohol detox may be the first step. This allows a patient to withdraw from using alcohol under the supervision of trained medical staff. Some patients experience physical and mental symptoms that require medication to ease the side effects. From there, some patients may need to spend time in our residential treatment center or enroll in outpatient services. Our clinical staff will consult with your healthcare team to decide the best course of action. We also work with your insurance provider to help you get an idea of the cost of alcohol addiction treatment.
No matter what substance you use, be it drugs or alcohol, detox from long-term addiction can be a hard road. Landmark Recovery provides safe, medically-sound detox treatment that will manage your withdrawal and start you on the road to recovery.
Learn more about Medical DetoxFor many individuals, detox represents the most difficult stage of the recovery journey. This is because as addictive substances are being flushed out of the body, the brain typically goes into withdrawal as it adjusts to normal functioning without the presence of drugs or alcohol. Depending on the substance of abuse and length and severity of addiction, you can experience a range of unpleasant withdrawal symptoms when you stop drinking or using drugs.
