Detox and Rehab Facility in Southern Indiana

The first stage of the recovery process involves undergoing medical detox to flush out all traces of drugs and/or alcohol from your system. It’s highly recommended that detox occurs under medical supervision, at a professional treatment and rehab center. Detox can be extremely uncomfortable and potentially life-threatening due to withdrawal symptoms that are often experienced when substance use is discontinued, especially for those individuals who have developed a chemical dependency.

We accept in- and out-of-state patients and proudly support military veterans. Landmark Recovery does not discriminate on the basis or age, sex or gender.

The detox program at Landmark Recovery of Louisville will guide you through detox as comfortably and as safely as possible. Our compassionate clinical team will provide around-the-clock health care and administer medications that can help manage the cravings and negative effects of withdrawal.

All rehab clients are provided with personalized treatment plans that include a variety of science-backed treatment modalities for treating the body, mind, and spirit. Depending on your specific needs, your customized treatment program may include counseling, behavioral therapy, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), meditation and mindfulness therapies, inpatient rehab, health and wellness education, nutrition therapy, fitness and exercise programs, and recreational activities.

Life Inside Praxis of Louisville by Landmark Recovery

Some might be wondering what the process of inpatient rehab admission and the rehab itself is like. Here’s how patients are usually admitted, evaluated, and treated.

Patients or their families will speak to an admissions specialist to ask questions or learn more about the admissions process. Once both parties come to a mutual understanding on all questions, patients will enter the treatment center. This is when patients begin the intake process. Basic information about the patient is gathered  and the patient is oriented on the rehab process and rules.

Medical staff will evaluate patients during the intake process to determine their condition and make medical recommendations based off their findings.  Doctors build a personal profile for the patient so they can track their treatment and progress throughout their time with us. Detox begins next, where we manage the withdrawals to prevent serious harm to patients as they begin the recovery journey.

Inpatient rehab patients are required to check themselves in, while outpatient rehab patients don’t have to. We require that, pending a doctor’s recommendation, all patients suffering from heavy addictions go through inpatient rehab. This is a firm recommendation we make to properly monitor the medical condition of those detoxing and participating in therapy and counseling. Inpatient rehab is required for those who can’t pass a drug test while participating in outpatient rehab.

After detoxing is finished (usually 5-7 days), patients will then spend 30-45 days taking part in the residential program. While staying at the rehab center, multiple types of therapy will be provided along with recreational time to focus on the self. Once patients finish their residential treatment with us, we provide them with access to continued support through alumni programs and weekly therapy sessions at no cost.

Daily Inpatient Rehab Schedule

During inpatient rehab at Praxis of Louisville by Landmark Recovery, you’ll follow a schedule that includes intensive therapy, counseling and classes to help you achieve sobriety. You’ll have some free time and three meals a day.

What Landmark Recovery Graduates Are Saying

My life has been forever changed by Landmark! I owe my new life to the knowledge I gained there. I completed the IOP program and started participating in the Alumni program. I have to say that the Alumni program is my favorite because it really goes the extra mile and shows you how to have fun while being sober. It's so great to have real friendships that I have made while on this life journey.

-Chris G.

When I walked into Landmark, I knew it was unlike any place I had been in my past attempts. The structure, curriculum, the genuine empathy towards residents, and being guided by people with first hand knowledge and experience of the path we're on made the difference. Facing the world after can be overwhelming for some, but with the information, tools, confidence and support Landmark provided, the reality is less intimidating.

-David P.

The compassion that I received upon entering Landmark Recovery was overwhelming. The education that I received in regards to my disease was more than I could have ever anticipated. I was able to meet like minded people that understood every aspect of what I was going through, including the staff. I would have never met any of these people who I now consider friends had it not been for Landmark.

You're Not Alone

Addiction in Seymour and the state of Indiana overall is a growing problem. In fact, 1 out of every 12 Hoosiers, nearly half a million people, fit the criteria to be diagnosed with a substance use disorder (SUD).

  • There were 15 drugs overdose deaths in Seymour involving opioids in 2017
  • In 2017, Jackson County had an opioid poisoning rate of 27.3 per 100,000 people, topping Indiana’s state average of 17.6
  • In 2019, 1,695 Indiana residents died from drug overdoses
  • There were 144 suspensions/expulsions due to alcohol, tobacco or drug use in 2019
  • In 2020, there were 305 admissions for treatment of a substance use disorder in Jackson County

Landmark Recovery is looking to change those statistics by providing local, patient-centric care to those who are in need of addiction treatment.

Cost of Addiction and Substance Abuse Treatment

Some people delay addiction treatment because they believe it’s too expensive. But the costs associated with an untreated addiction far outweigh the cost of a recovery center. The cost of drugs and alcohol used by someone dealing with addiction typically surpasses the price of treatment for substance abuse.

There are also emotional and physical costs to untreated substance abuse, including health problems, broken relationships and poor self-image that often accompany addiction. While detox and rehab is an investment, it’s one that pays off. You’ll find a better life in recovery.

Landmark Recovery is one of the most affordable drug and alcohol rehab centers in Southern Indiana and around the Louisville Metro area. We strive to make addiction recovery affordable and attainable to anyone who needs it. The cost of medical detox and rehab varies from person to person. Treatment plans, medications, levels of care and insurance coverage all play a factor in determining how much addiction recovery could cost.

Landmark Recovery offers payment plans which can help make the cost of substance abuse treatment more manageable. Details of repayment options are specific to each individual circumstance, based on a variety of factors. Addiction Recovery and Treatment in Louisville, KY

Addiction to alcohol and drugs is a complex disease that affects your brain and body. However, it’s never been more treatable. Landmark Recovery of Louisville can help you overcome drug and alcohol addiction using medical detox and evidence-based treatment plans.

Through the substance abuse treatment plans we offer at Landmark Recovery of Louisville, our goal is to stop a crippling trend of drug overdose in Kentucky. In 2018, the Bluegrass State had the ninth-highest drug overdose fatality rate in the United States. There were reportedly 30.9 drug overdose deaths per 100,000 people. Equally important is the ongoing opioid epidemic, which continues to be connected to most drug-related deaths in Kentucky. From 2015-2019, 75% of drug overdose deaths involved an opioid.

Excessive alcohol use has done even more damage to Kentucky communities. In 2019, alcohol-related driving deaths accounted for 20.5% of all Kentucky fatalities. The city of Louisville, responsible for producing one-third of the world’s bourbon supply, posted the nation’s 8th-highest rate of alcohol-impaired deaths in 2018 at 31.3%.

The good news is more Kentucky residents are receiving treatment for substance use disorders. A single-day count from the Behavioral Health Barometer reported that 28,452 people in Kentucky were enrolled in substance use treatment in 2019, an increase from 23,565 people in 2015. It doesn’t matter if it’s an addiction to drugs or alcohol, Landmark Recovery of Louisville is here to help those in need of substance use treatment.

Alcohol Addiction

Research shows that Kentucky residents struggle with alcoholism more than any substance in the state. Kentucky has the third-highest rate of binge drinking, having more than four (women) or five (men) drinks in one sitting, in the country. The Kentucky State Police reported nearly 22,000 DUI arrests in 2019.

Marijuana Addiction

Marijuana was once the most abused illicit substance in the state of Kentucky. From 2013-2014, Kentucky residents ages 18-25 had the highest percentage of past-month marijuana use at 16.6%. Although Kentucky Democrats approved a bill to legalize medical marijuana in 2022, the possession of any amount of marijuana remains illegal across the state.

Heroin Addiction

Heroin use, especially fatalities, is low compared to other drugs in Kentucky. In 2020, drug overdose deaths involving heroin happened at a rate of 2.48 per 100,000 people. However, emergency department visits due to heroin overdose happened at one of the highest rates in the Bluegrass State. In fact, heroin-involved nonfatal emergency department visits happened at a rate of 83.71 per 100,000 people in 2020.

Opioid Addiction

Kentucky has the fifth-highest opioid dispensing rate in the United States. The Overdose Fatality Report stated that more than 1,964 Kentucky residents died from drug overdoses in 2020. Furthermore, opioid abuse was reportedly found in 71% of those drug overdose deaths. When it comes to the prescription pain relievers like Percocet or codeine, three in 10 (30%) Kentucky adults reported that a family member, friend or themselves experienced problems as a result of opioid abuse.

Cocaine/Crack Addiction

At one time, cocaine was among the most abused substances in the metropolitan areas of Kentucky. From 1998 to 2000, 16% of all drug addiction treatment admissions were for powdered cocaine abuse. Since then, cocaine drug poisoning has remained stable throughout the state of Kentucky. From 2012-2016, inpatient hospitalizations and emergency department visits due to cocaine poisoning in Jefferson County, where Landmark of Recovery of Louisville is located, stayed below 200 admissions per year.

Meth/Methamphetamine Addiction

The rise of methamphetamine usage has devastated Kentucky since the beginning of the century. Research from the National Drug Intelligence Center and Recovery Connection revealed that from 2000-2010, treatment admissions for meth addiction in the Bluegrass State grew from 631 to 1027, an increase of more than 62%. In addition, there were 801 meth-involved drug overdose death in 2019, accounting for 41% of Kentucky’s overdose deaths.

Learn more about Medical Detox in Louisville

No matter what substance you use, be it drugs or alcohol, detox from long-term addiction can be a hard road. Landmark Recovery of Louisville provides safe, medically-sound detox treatment that will manage your withdrawal and start you on the road to recovery.

Learn more about Medical Detox

For many individuals, detox represents the most difficult stage of the recovery journey. This is because as addictive substances are being flushed out of the body, the brain typically goes into withdrawal as it adjusts to normal functioning without the presence of drugs or alcohol. Depending on the substance of abuse and length and severity of addiction, you can experience a range of unpleasant withdrawal symptoms when you stop drinking or using drugs.
