Yes, marijuana is addictive. Approximately three out of 10 adults who frequently use cannabis suffer from marijuana use disorder, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Marijuana, or more specifically the chemical THC, directly affects the brain. It can decrease memory, attention, decision making and coordination. Long-term use of marijuana has been linked to increased risk of psychosis or schizophrenia in some users.
Repeated heroin use can change the physical structure and physiology of the brain, creating irreversible imbalances. Nearly a third of all opioid-related deaths involved heroin, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. More than four out of every 100,000 people in the country die from a heroin overdose each year. Most heroin use disorders require expert help to overcome.
Nearly 1.3 million Americans are receiving medication-assisted treatment for an opioid use disorder. Yet the United States is experiencing a opioid epidemic that is destroying families and leading to unnecessary deaths. Asking for help is the first step in recovering from an opioid addiction. Landmark Recovery offers specialized treatment to help break the cycle of substance abuse.
Drug overdose deaths involving cocaine has steadily increased during the last decade, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse. Stopping the use of cocaine often requires the help of trained professionals.
Federal data reviews have identified an increase in overdose deaths involving methamphetamine. The rate of methamphetamine use disorder (or addiction) quadrupled nationally among people aged 18-23 years, according to the National Institutes of Health. With no approved medications to treat addictions to meth, medical detox and inpatient rehab appear to be the best treatment options.

We understand that each person who walks through our doors has their own story and struggles. We don't treat addictions, we treat people.
