Detox and Rehab Facility in Denver

Medical detoxification, also know as detox is the process of flushing out all traces of drugs or alcohol from a person’s body. This is typically the first stage of the recovery process when beginning alcohol and drug addiction treatment. While some people attempt to detox on their own, it’s highly recommended that detox occurs under medical supervision, at a professional treatment and rehab center. This is especially important for alcohol detox and some drug detox as withdrawal symptoms could be very serious. Detox can be extremely uncomfortable and potentially life-threatening due to withdrawal symptoms that are often experienced when substance use is discontinued, especially for those individuals who have developed a chemical dependency.

We accept in-and-out-of-state patients and proudly support military veterans. Landmark Recovery does not discriminate on the basis of age, sex or gender.

The detox program at Landmark Recovery of Denver will guide you through detox as comfortably and as safely as possible. Our compassionate clinical team will provide around-the-clock health care and administer medications that can help manage the cravings and negative effects of withdrawal.

All rehab clients are provided with personalized treatment plans that include a variety of science-backed treatment modalities for treating the body, mind, and spirit. Depending on your specific needs, your customized treatment program may include counseling, behavioral therapy, medication-assisted treatment, meditation and mindfulness therapies, inpatient rehab, health and wellness education, nutrition therapy, fitness and exercise programs, and recreational activities.

Life Inside Landmark Recovery of Denver

You might be wondering about the admission process for our residential treatment center and what rehab itself is like. Here’s how patients are usually admitted, evaluated, and treated.

Admissions Process

Getting into residential treatment for a drug or alcohol addiction typically starts with a call to our admissions team. An admissions specialist will discuss our programs and explain next steps. Once you feel fully informed and understand the requirements for entering Landmark Recovery of Denver we’ll schedule a time for you to arrive at our care center. This is when patients begin the intake process. Basic information about the patient is gathered  and the patient is oriented on the rehab process and rules.

Clinical Evaluation

Medical staff will evaluate patients during the intake process to determine their condition and make recommendations based off their findings.  Doctors build a personal profile for each patient, so they can track their treatment and progress throughout their time with us. In some cases medical detox could be required to help manage withdrawal symptoms to prevent serious harm to patients as they begin the recovery journey.

Residential treatment patients are required to check themselves in, while those entering our outpatient program do not. We require that, pending a doctor’s recommendation, all patients suffering from heavy addictions go through inpatient rehab. This is a firm recommendation we make to properly monitor the medical condition of those detoxing and participating in therapy and counseling. Inpatient rehab is required for those who can’t pass a drug test while participating in outpatient rehab.

Drug Treatment

Our drug treatment could begin with detox, depending on how long you’ve been using a particular substance and the amount you typically use. It’s important that you’re honest with our clinical team and therapists about your addiction. Leaving out information about what substances you use can be detrimental to your treatment plan. The staff at our residential treatment center is committed to you overcoming an addiction to gain clarity and find the power within yourself to enjoy long-term recovery.

Inpatient Rehab

Depending on your personalized treatment program, you may spend time in medical detox, where our staff will monitor your withdrawal symptoms. This is variable and will depend in several factors, including the type of substance(s) you’ve used and your level of chemical dependency. The amount of time patients spend in our residential treatment program is determined on an individual bases. You’ll be able to discuss this with the doctor and clinical staff. While in residential care, multiple types of therapy will be provided along with recreational and free time. Once patients finish their residential treatment with us, we provide them with access to continued support through alumni programs and weekly therapy sessions at no cost.

Daily Inpatient Rehab Schedule

During inpatient rehab at Landmark Recovery of Denver, you’ll follow a schedule that includes intensive therapy, counseling, and classes to help you achieve sobriety. You’ll have some free time and three meals a day.

What Landmark Recovery Graduates Are Saying

My life has been forever changed by Landmark! I owe my new life to the knowledge I gained there. I completed the IOP program and started participating in the Alumni program. I have to say that the Alumni program is my favorite because it really goes the extra mile and shows you how to have fun while being sober. It's so great to have real friendships that I have made while on this life journey.

-Chris G.

When I walked into Landmark, I knew it was unlike any place I had been in my past attempts. The structure, curriculum, the genuine empathy towards residents, and being guided by people with first hand knowledge and experience of the path we're on made the difference. Facing the world after can be overwhelming for some, but with the information, tools, confidence and support Landmark provided, the reality is less intimidating.

-David P.

The compassion that I received upon entering Landmark Recovery was overwhelming. The education that I received in regards to my disease was more than I could have ever anticipated. I was able to meet like minded people that understood every aspect of what I was going through, including the staff. I would have never met any of these people who I now consider friends had it not been for Landmark.

  • 1 in 5 Denver resident drink excessively*
  • 72% of Coloradans don’t seek treatment for an addiction because they are worried someone will find out they have a problem, according to the Colorado Health Institute
  • In 2020 there were 1,477 deaths attributed to accidental overdose

Cost of Addiction and Substance Abuse Treatment in Denver

Landmark Recovery is one of the most affordable drug and alcohol rehab centers in Colorado. We strive to make addiction recovery affordable and attainable to anyone who needs it. The cost of medical detox and rehab services varies from person to person. Treatment plans, medications, levels of care and insurance coverage all play a factor in determining how much addiction recovery could cost.

Some people delay addiction treatment because they believe it’s too expensive. But the costs associated with an untreated addiction far outweigh the cost of a recovery center. The price most people with an addiction pay for drugs and alcohol typically surpasses the cost of treatment for substance abuse. There are also emotional and physical costs, including health problems, broken relationships and poor self-image that often accompany an addiction. While detox and rehab is an investment, it’s one that pays off. Recovery can let you regain control of your finances.

Landmark Recovery offers payment plans which can help make the cost of substance abuse treatment more manageable. Details of repayment options are specific to each individual circumstance, based on a variety of factors. Michael Marsico

Clinical Director

Michael Marsico remembers having the support of loved ones and professionals during his lowest times. Now, he gets to pay it forward as the clinical director at Landmark Recovery of Denver. There, he can foster the growth and development of clinicians in the addiction recovery space who will impact the lives of people in need of treatment.

“When I went back to school, I wanted to be a part of positive change for those who maybe didn’t have the skills or support systems to be successful,” Marsico said. “Now, I get to work with those folks and help build robust long-lasting support systems and be a part of positive change within the Landmark Recovery community.”

When Marsico received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work from Fordham University in The Bronx, New York, he became the first person in his family to achieve this accomplishment. The first-generation Italian American and his wife, a Colorado native, have been living in Denver since 2019. Outside of working with clinicians, he enjoys cooking traditional family recipes, golfing, skiing and spending time with his dog.

Sierra Lopez

Business Office Manager

Sierra Lopez traveled cross country to become the business office manager at Landmark Recovery of Denver. She grew up in the northeast, where the Massachusetts native earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Fitchburg State University. But instead of law enforcement or a similar career, Lopez chose addiction recovery, mostly because addiction runs in her family.

When Lopez isn’t helping people recover from the effects of a substance use disorder, she enjoys playing the guitar, hiking, drawing and video games. Lopez is married and shares her home with a kitten and puppy.

Affordability

If we’re going to treat people in this country who suffer from substance use disorders, then one of our goals should be to make addiction treatment as affordable as possible. Cars and houses are wildly expensive, but getting the right addiction treatment is priceless. No matter what the cost is, we've taken it upon ourselves to make affordable treatment available for those who need it. We're also extremely proud to accept Medicaid treatment through our Praxis locations across the Midwest and beyond.

Alcohol and Drug Addiction Treatment in Colorado

Addiction is a complex but treatable disease. Landmark Recovery of Denver can help you overcome drug and alcohol addiction using medical detox and evidence-based rehab programs. The most popular substances abused in Colorado are marijuana, alcohol, cocaine and opioids, according to federal data. Last year about 30,000 people went to an emergency room in Denver for a substance-abuse-related issue.

Unfortunately, many people don’t get treatment because they are worried about what others will think. The reality is that society applauds and supports those who choose to better themselves, which includes overcoming the harmful effects of addiction.

Alcohol Addiction

It's estimated that more than 6% of adults in Colorado are dealing with an alcohol addiction. These people can benefit greatly from alcohol addiction treatment. Alcohol detox may be the first step. This allows a patient to withdraw from using alcohol under the supervision of trained medical staff. Some patients experience physical and mental symptoms that require medication to ease the side effects. From there, some patients may need to spend time in our residential treatment center or enroll in outpatient services. Our clinical staff will consult with your healthcare team to decide the best course of action. We also work with your insurance provider to help you get an idea of the cost of alcohol addiction treatment.

Alcohol and Drug Detox in Denver

No matter what substance you use, be it drugs or alcohol, detox from long-term addiction can be a hard road. Landmark Recovery provides safe, medically-sound detox treatment that will manage your withdrawal and start you on the road to recovery.

Learn more about Medical Detox

For many individuals, detox represents the most difficult stage of the recovery journey. This is because as addictive substances are being flushed out of the body, the brain typically goes into withdrawal as it adjusts to normal functioning without the presence of drugs or alcohol. Depending on the substance of abuse and length and severity of addiction, you can experience a range of unpleasant withdrawal symptoms when you stop drinking or using drugs.
